Description

A quick and flavorful Garlic Fried Rice recipe that combines fragrant garlic, tender vegetables, scrambled eggs, and soy sauce to create a delicious and comforting meal perfect for any time of day.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 3 cups cooked rice
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup frozen peas and carrots
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon sesame oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat the oil and garlic: In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and cook for 1-2 minutes until it becomes fragrant and lightly golden, releasing its aroma.
  2. Cook the vegetables: Add the frozen peas and carrots to the skillet. Cook for 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the vegetables are tender and fully heated through.
  3. Scramble the eggs: Push the cooked vegetables to one side of the skillet. Pour the beaten eggs into the empty space and scramble them gently until they are fully cooked and set.
  4. Add rice and seasonings: Add the cooked rice to the skillet along with 1 tablespoon of soy sauce, 1/2 teaspoon of sesame oil, and salt and pepper to taste. Stir everything together thoroughly so the rice is evenly coated.
  5. Heat through and serve: Continue cooking the rice mixture for another 3-5 minutes, stirring occasionally to ensure it is heated through and flavored well. Serve warm and enjoy your flavorful garlic fried rice!

Notes

  • Use day-old rice for the best texture and to avoid sogginess.
  • You can substitute vegetable oil with olive oil or any preferred cooking oil.
  • Adjust soy sauce quantity to control saltiness.
  • For added protein, consider adding cooked chicken, shrimp, or tofu.
  • Optional: Garnish with chopped green onions or sesame seeds for extra flavor.
