Main Ingredients
- 3 cups cooked rice
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup frozen peas and carrots
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon sesame oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Heat the oil and garlic: In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and cook for 1-2 minutes until it becomes fragrant and lightly golden, releasing its aroma.
- Cook the vegetables: Add the frozen peas and carrots to the skillet. Cook for 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the vegetables are tender and fully heated through.
- Scramble the eggs: Push the cooked vegetables to one side of the skillet. Pour the beaten eggs into the empty space and scramble them gently until they are fully cooked and set.
- Add rice and seasonings: Add the cooked rice to the skillet along with 1 tablespoon of soy sauce, 1/2 teaspoon of sesame oil, and salt and pepper to taste. Stir everything together thoroughly so the rice is evenly coated.
- Heat through and serve: Continue cooking the rice mixture for another 3-5 minutes, stirring occasionally to ensure it is heated through and flavored well. Serve warm and enjoy your flavorful garlic fried rice!
Notes
- Use day-old rice for the best texture and to avoid sogginess.
- You can substitute vegetable oil with olive oil or any preferred cooking oil.
- Adjust soy sauce quantity to control saltiness.
- For added protein, consider adding cooked chicken, shrimp, or tofu.
- Optional: Garnish with chopped green onions or sesame seeds for extra flavor.
