Ingredients
Scale
Cauliflower and Batter
- 1 head cauliflower, cut into florets
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 cup water
Sauce
- 1 cup buffalo sauce
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C) to ensure it’s hot enough to make the cauliflower bites crispy.
- Make Batter: In a bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and water. Whisk until you form a smooth batter that will coat the cauliflower evenly.
- Coat Cauliflower: Dip each cauliflower floret into the batter, making sure it is fully coated for maximum crispiness after baking.
- Arrange for Baking: Place the batter-coated cauliflower florets on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper to prevent sticking and promote even cooking.
- Bake First Round: Bake the coated florets for 20 minutes. This step starts crisping up the batter while cooking the cauliflower inside.
- Toss in Sauce: In a bowl, mix the buffalo sauce with olive oil. Toss the baked cauliflower florets in this mixture to coat them evenly with the spicy sauce.
- Bake Again: Return the sauced cauliflower to the oven and bake for an additional 10 minutes to set the sauce and deepen the crispiness.
Notes
- Use parchment paper to prevent sticking and easy cleanup.
- For extra crispiness, flip the florets halfway through the first bake.
- Adjust buffalo sauce quantity to control spice level.
- Serve with celery sticks and ranch or blue cheese dressing for a classic experience.
- Can easily be made gluten-free by substituting all-purpose flour with a gluten-free flour blend.
