Description

These Baked Garlic Parmesan Potato Wedges are a delicious and crispy side dish perfect for any meal. Coated with garlic, Italian seasoning, and Parmesan cheese, these wedges bake to golden perfection with a flavorful and crunchy exterior while remaining tender on the inside.

Ingredients

Scale

Potatoes

  • 4 medium russet potatoes

Seasoning & Cheese

  • ¼ cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 4 cloves fresh garlic, minced
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven and Prepare Potatoes: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Scrub the potatoes thoroughly to remove any dirt and slice them into thick, evenly sized wedges to ensure even cooking.
  2. Toss Potatoes with Seasonings: In a large bowl, combine the potato wedges with olive oil, minced garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, pepper, and grated Parmesan cheese. Toss well to evenly coat all the wedges with the flavorful mixture.
  3. Arrange on Baking Sheet: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking. Place the coated wedges in a single layer on the sheet, making sure they are not crowded to allow crisping.
  4. Bake and Flip: Bake the wedges in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes. Halfway through baking, flip the wedges to promote even browning and crispiness on all sides.
  5. Optional Parmesan Topping: Once baked and golden, optionally sprinkle additional Parmesan cheese over the hot wedges before serving to enhance the cheesy flavor.

Notes

  • For extra crispiness, soak cut potato wedges in cold water for 30 minutes before seasoning and baking to remove excess starch.
  • You can substitute Parmesan cheese with Pecorino Romano for a sharper flavor.
  • Serve these wedges immediately for best texture; they can be reheated in an oven or air fryer.
  • Feel free to add fresh parsley or chives as a garnish for added color and freshness.
