Description

These Strawberry and Yogurt Frozen Dog Treats are a simple and healthy way to cool down your furry friend on a warm day. Made with fresh strawberries, plain unsweetened Greek yogurt, and an optional touch of honey, these frozen treats are packed with natural flavors and nutrients that dogs love. Easy to prepare and perfect for summer, they make a refreshing, nutritious snack your dog can enjoy safely.

Ingredients

Scale

Ingredients

  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and chopped
  • 1 cup plain unsweetened Greek yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon honey (optional, only if approved by your vet)
  • 1–2 tablespoons water (as needed for blending)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Ingredients: Wash, hull, and chop the fresh strawberries into small pieces for easier blending.
  2. Blend Mixture: Add the strawberries, Greek yogurt, and honey (if using) into a blender or food processor. Blend until smooth, gradually adding 1 to 2 tablespoons of water as needed to achieve a pourable consistency suitable for molding.
  3. Fill Molds: Pour the blended mixture into silicone molds, ice cube trays, or small paper cups to form individual treats.
  4. Freeze: Place the filled molds into the freezer and allow them to freeze for at least 3 to 4 hours, or until solidly frozen.
  5. Serve: Once frozen, pop the treats out of their molds and store them in an airtight container in the freezer. Serve one treat at a time as a cool snack for your dog to enjoy on warm days.

Notes

  • Use plain, unsweetened Greek yogurt without artificial sweeteners such as xylitol, which is toxic to dogs.
  • Feel free to substitute strawberries with blueberries, bananas, or pumpkin purée to vary flavors.
  • Serve these treats in moderation as a supplement to your dog’s regular diet, not as a meal replacement.
