Description

This Spaghetti & Meatballs One-Pot Wonder is a quick and easy Instant Pot meal that combines tender meatballs, perfectly cooked spaghetti, and rich marinara sauce all in one pot. Ready in just 30 minutes, it’s a comforting and delicious dish ideal for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

Scale

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 lb frozen meatballs
  • 3 cups water
  • 24 oz marinara sauce
  • 8 oz spaghetti, broken in half
  • ½ tsp salt
  • Parmesan cheese (optional, for garnish)
  • Fresh basil (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Instant Pot and Sauté Aromatics: Turn the Instant Pot to sauté mode and add olive oil. Sauté the diced onions and minced garlic for about 2 minutes, until fragrant and softened.
  2. Add Ingredients in Layers: Layer the frozen meatballs, broken spaghetti, marinara sauce, and water into the pot in that order. Do not stir to prevent the spaghetti from sticking together.
  3. Pressure Cook: Close the lid securely and set the valve to sealing. Cook on High Pressure for 8 minutes to allow the spaghetti and meatballs to cook perfectly.
  4. Release Pressure: Perform a quick release to safely release the pressure once cooking is complete.
  5. Mix the Dish: Open the lid and stir the contents thoroughly to combine the spaghetti and meatballs with the sauce evenly.
  6. Serve: Dish out the spaghetti and meatballs, optionally garnishing with a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese or fresh basil for extra flavor and presentation.

Notes

  • Use frozen meatballs directly from the freezer for best results; no need to thaw.
  • Breaking the spaghetti in half helps it fit and cook evenly in the Instant Pot.
  • Do not stir after adding all ingredients to avoid getting a burn notice from the Instant Pot.
  • If you prefer a thicker sauce, reduce water slightly or simmer after pressure cooking using sauté mode.
  • This recipe is easily adjustable to suit vegetarian meatball substitutes if desired.
