Ingredients
Scale
Main Ingredients
- 1 ½ cups cooked rajma (kidney beans), drained and mashed
- 1 small boiled potato, mashed
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon grated ginger
- 1 green chili, finely chopped (optional)
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro
- 1 teaspoon garam masala
- ½ teaspoon cumin powder
- ½ teaspoon red chili powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons breadcrumbs (plus more if needed)
- 1 tablespoon oil (for cooking)
To Serve
- 6 slider buns
- Lettuce or spinach leaves
- Tomato slices
- Onion rings
- Mint yogurt sauce or ketchup
Instructions
- Prepare the mixture: In a large bowl, combine the mashed kidney beans, mashed potato, finely chopped onion, minced garlic, grated ginger, chopped green chili (optional), chopped fresh cilantro, garam masala, cumin powder, red chili powder, salt, and breadcrumbs. Mix everything well until the mixture is firm enough to hold together, adding more breadcrumbs if the mixture feels too soft.
- Shape the patties: Divide the mixture evenly into 6 portions and shape each portion into small round patties suitable for sliders.
- Cook the patties: Heat oil in a nonstick skillet over medium heat. Place the patties in the skillet and cook each side for about 3 to 4 minutes until golden brown and crispy on the outside.
- Toast the buns: Lightly toast the slider buns to add a slight crunch and warmth, enhancing the overall slider texture.
- Assemble the sliders: On the bottom half of each bun, place a fresh lettuce or spinach leaf, then add a rajma kebab patty. Top with a slice of tomato, some onion rings, and a dollop of mint yogurt sauce or ketchup. Cover with the top half of the bun and serve immediately while warm.
Notes
- For extra crunch and better texture, you can roll the patties in additional breadcrumbs before pan-frying.
- The patties can be prepared ahead of time and refrigerated for up to 24 hours before cooking, making meal prep easier.
- Serve these sliders with spiced fries or a fresh side salad for a complete meal.
