Description

This No-Bake Tim Tam Slice is a luscious Australian dessert combining crushed Tim Tam biscuits with sweetened condensed milk, butter, and desiccated coconut, topped with a glossy chocolate layer. It’s an easy-to-make, crowd-pleasing treat perfect for parties or indulgent snacking.

Ingredients

Scale

Base

  • 2 packs (200g each) Tim Tam biscuits, crushed
  • 1 can (395g) sweetened condensed milk
  • 100g unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup desiccated coconut

Topping

  • 200g milk or dark chocolate
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. Prepare the baking tin: Line an 8×8-inch or 9×9-inch square baking tin with parchment paper to prevent sticking and facilitate easy removal of the slice.
  2. Make the base mixture: In a large bowl, combine the crushed Tim Tam biscuits, sweetened condensed milk, melted butter, and desiccated coconut. Mix thoroughly until the ingredients form a consistent, sticky mixture.
  3. Press the base: Transfer the biscuit mixture into the prepared baking tin and press it down firmly and evenly with the back of a spoon or your hands to form a compact base layer.
  4. Melt the chocolate topping: Place the chocolate and vegetable oil in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat in 30-second intervals, stirring after each, until the mixture is completely melted and smooth.
  5. Apply the chocolate layer: Pour the melted chocolate over the biscuit base and spread it evenly with a spatula to cover the entire surface.
  6. Chill and set: Refrigerate the slice for at least 2 hours or until the chocolate topping is fully set and firm to the touch.
  7. Slice and serve: Using a warm knife, cut the set slice into 16 equal squares and serve chilled for the best texture and flavor.

Notes

  • You can use different Tim Tam flavors such as caramel or double coat for added variety.
  • Store the Tim Tam slice in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
  • For extra texture, consider adding chopped nuts or sprinkling a layer of crushed biscuits on top before chilling.
