Description

This Easy Baked Caesar Chicken recipe combines tender, juicy chicken breasts with creamy Caesar dressing, melted provolone cheese, and a crunchy Caesar-style crouton topping. It’s a simple, flavorful baked dish perfect for a quick family dinner that requires minimal prep and delivers maximum taste.

Ingredients

Scale

Chicken and Seasonings

  • 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts (pounded to an even thickness)
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper

Toppings

  • ½ cup creamy Caesar dressing
  • 8 slices provolone cheese
  • 1 cup Caesar-style croutons

Instructions

  1. Preheat and Prepare: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish to prevent sticking.
  2. Season Chicken: Arrange the chicken breasts in a single layer in the prepared baking dish and season evenly with salt and black pepper to enhance their flavor.
  3. Add Caesar Dressing and Cheese: Spread the creamy Caesar dressing evenly over each chicken breast and top each piece completely with sliced provolone cheese.
  4. Prepare Crouton Topping: Crush the Caesar-style croutons into small crumbs inside a large Ziplock bag, then sprinkle the crumbs evenly over the cheese-topped chicken breasts for a crunchy finish.
  5. Bake: Place the baking dish on the center rack of the oven and bake for 25 to 30 minutes until the chicken is fully cooked (internal temperature of 165°F) and the topping turns golden brown. If the crouton crumbs brown too quickly, loosely cover the dish with aluminum foil for the remainder of baking time.

Notes

  • For even cooking, pound the chicken breasts to an even thickness before starting.
  • You can substitute provolone with mozzarella or another mild melting cheese if desired.
  • Use fresh Caesar dressing or homemade for best flavor.
  • To check for doneness, use a meat thermometer to ensure the chicken reaches 165°F internally.
  • If crouton topping browns too fast, tent with foil to avoid burning.
