Scale
Ingredients
- 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar (for dusting)
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a muffin tin or line it with muffin liners to prepare for baking.
- Prepare Dough: Roll out the crescent roll dough and cut it into squares along the perforations to create individual pieces for the cruffins.
- Mix Cinnamon Sugar: In a small bowl, combine the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon to make the cinnamon sugar mixture.
- Coat Dough Squares: Brush each dough square with the melted butter, then sprinkle generously with the cinnamon sugar mixture to add flavor and sweetness.
- Form Cruffins: Fold the dough squares into cruffin shapes and place them into the muffin tin. Stack the layers if needed to achieve a layered, flaky effect.
- Bake: Bake the cruffins for 15–20 minutes, or until they are golden brown and crispy on the outside.
- Finish and Serve: Remove the cruffins from the oven and dust them with powdered sugar before serving for a sweet finishing touch.
Notes
- For an extra flaky texture, be careful not to flatten the dough layers too much when folding.
- These cruffins are best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
- You can add a drizzle of icing or fill the cruffins with jam or chocolate for added flavor.
- Using muffin liners helps with easy removal and less cleanup.
