Description

Delight in these Cheesy Garlic Cruffins, a perfect blend of flaky crescent dough filled with garlic, melted mozzarella, and Parmesan cheese. Baked to golden perfection, these savory treats are ideal for brunch, dinner rolls, or party appetizers, offering a deliciously cheesy and garlicky bite every time.

Ingredients

Scale

Dough & Butter

  • 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough or puff pastry sheet
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • Optional: extra melted butter for brushing

Cheese & Seasonings

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning or dried parsley
  • Pinch of salt
  • Optional: herbs for brushing (such as parsley or oregano)

Instructions

  1. Preheat and Prepare: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a muffin tin to prevent sticking.
  2. Prepare Dough: Unroll the crescent dough into a single sheet, pressing seams to seal if using crescent rolls. If using puff pastry, roll it out slightly to smooth the surface.
  3. Brush and Sprinkle: Brush the dough evenly with melted butter. Then sprinkle minced garlic, shredded mozzarella, grated Parmesan, Italian seasoning, and a pinch of salt evenly across the dough.
  4. Roll the Dough: Starting from the longer edge, tightly roll the dough into a log shape. Once rolled, cut the log lengthwise in half to expose the layers inside.
  5. Form Cruffins: With the cut sides facing outward, gently roll each half into a spiral shape like a cinnamon roll and place each spiral into a muffin cup with the cut side facing up.
  6. Bake: Place the muffin tin in the oven and bake for 15 to 18 minutes, or until the cruffins are golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.
  7. Optional Finish: Once baked, optionally brush with additional melted butter and sprinkle with fresh herbs for extra flavor before serving.

Notes

  • Best served warm for maximum flavor and texture.
  • Perfect for brunch, dinner rolls, or as party appetizers.
  • Add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the filling for a spicy kick.
